Transparent MicroLED, Slidable OLED & More from Tianma at CES 2026

Here is a detailed summary of Tianma’s automotive display innovations showcased at CES 2026.

High-Performance Cockpit Displays

  • ACRUS Dual-Cell LCD: Tianma’s Version 7 cockpit simulator features a 49.6-inch curved ACRUS display. It uses a dual-cell architecture with a monochrome panel behind a color TFT to achieve 210,000 local dimming zones.
  • Corning ColdForm Technology: The ACRUS display and several others use this technology to curve the glass without heat. This allows for a tighter bend radius, higher yields, and better performance because processes can be completed on flat glass before bending.
  • Ultra-Wide LTPS Display: A 29.5-inch 6K LTPS display was shown that reduces cost and complexity by using only three driver ICs instead of the typical five.

Advanced OLED & MicroLED Solutions

  • Slidable & Curved OLEDs: Demos included a 17-inch slidable OLED for center consoles or ceiling drop-down entertainment. They also featured 13-inch curved “Stack Layer” (tandem-cell) OLEDs in L and J shapes.
  • Transparent MicroLED: A 7-inch transparent microLED tile was showcased with 60% transparency and 5,000 nits of luminance. This technology is being integrated into windshield-reflected head-up displays (HUDs).
  • Louvered OLED for Privacy: A 17-inch AMOLED with a vertical “louver” black matrix layer was shown to prevent light from bouncing off the windshield at night, reducing driver distraction.

Interactive & Integrated Tech

  • 3D Cluster with Eye-Tracking: A 12.3-inch autostereoscopic 3D display uses a liquid crystal lenticular lens that can instantly switch between 2D and 3D modes.
  • InvisiView Decorative Displays: This technology uses a wood-grain textured film over a quantum dot mini-LED backlight. When off, it looks like a decorative interior piece, but it can achieve 800 nits of brightness when active.
  • Switchable Dimming Glass: Using dye liquid crystal technology, this smart glass can go from full dark to highly transmissive in approximately 300 milliseconds.

Availability

Many of these technologies are currently being developed for specific automotive manufacturers (OEMs) and are expected to be in production within the next two model years.
