Tianma Shows Off Massive 108 Inch 4K MicroLED at CES 2026

At CES 2026, Tianma showcased its 108-inch 4K Micro-LED display, representing a significant milestone in large-format display manufacturing.

Key Specifications & Performance

  • Massive Scale: The display measures 108 inches with a 4K resolution.
  • Exceptional Brightness: It achieves a peak luminance exceeding 1500 nits.
  • Visual Fidelity: The display offers a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a wide 170-degree viewing angle, and ultra-low reflectivity of just 1.7% SCE.
  • Seamless Tiling: The screen is constructed using 8.9-inch tiles spliced together with a seam width of less than 20 micrometers, making the connections virtually invisible.

Manufacturing Innovation

  • All-Laser Mass Transfer: This display is built using the world’s first all-laser mass transfer process. This method moves LEDs from the wafer to a carrier and finally to the backplane, improving throughput and placement accuracy compared to traditional pick-and-place methods.
  • Glass-Based LTPS Backplane: Unlike many large displays that use PCB substrates, Tianma utilizes a glass-based Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) TFT backplane. This choice eliminates common issues like flicker, crosstalk, and brightness banding while providing superior surface uniformity.
  • Side Routing Technology: To achieve a zero-bezel look, Tianma employs 3D integrated film-forming side routing, allowing the electrical traces to wrap around the edges of each tile.

Strategic Context

While demonstrated as a high-performance 4K TV-style display, Tianma clarified that this is a technology demonstrator meant to showcase their manufacturing capabilities rather than a commercial consumer product. The company positions this breakthrough as a “new benchmark” for scalable Micro-LED production for signage and premium large-format applications.
