The Laser Illuminated Projector Association (LIPA) working in conjunction with Insight Media and other industry experts, has completed a white paper that is now available for its member companies. Titled, “Laser Illuminated Projector Systems – Technology Ahead of Regulation”, the report is a comprehensive summary of the state of regulatory efforts with laser-based projection systems, the technology and the status of products in the market today.
“LIPA has been instrumental in helping tailor safety guidelines and regulations to reflect the unique technical properties of laser illuminated projection systems, but now that information needs to be communicated effectively to a wider audience,” noted Heidi Hoffman, managing director for LIPA. “To do so we have created a comprehensive white paper that summarizes all the key technical, regulatory and commercialization issues that is accessible for non-experts. We are really pleased with the scope and contents of the white paper and hope to release publically in the near future.”
The white paper describes not only all laser-illuminated projection systems being rollout today in cinema and large venue applications, but also the laser-phosphor-based projectors that are vying to capture the mainstream projector market.
“We are proud to have been able to contribute to this white paper and help support this important mission of LIPA,” said Chris Chinnock of Insight Media. “Innovation is happening very quickly in this space so it is imperative that regulations not impede the commercialization of these products. LIPA is doing an excellent job managing this difficult task.”
