Metasurface structures can create flat optical elements that can bend light, change its polarization, create color filters, or enable holographic images. These metasurface feature are circular pillars or rectangular shapes that are sub-wavelength in size. Already available for IR and near-IR wavelengths, a new Direct Laser Write tool is now available to create 100-nm scale features for visible wavelengths. This tool can directly fabricate flat optical elements for AR glasses, automotive head-up displays, pico-projectors, cameras, structured light, sensors, co-packed optics, and much more.
