Innovision Shows Polychrome and Full-Color Stacked microLED Displays

Innovision showed off three different microLED device ranges along with their associated projection engine modules at Display Week 2026.  The Chimo M13 is a 0.13-inch microLED panel available in red, green and blue monochrome configurations. As noted in the spec sheet below, it uses a 4 micron pixel pitch to achieve 640 x 480 resolution. We assume blue and green are GaN while red is AlInGaP. This device has 8-bits of gray scale and can operate at 60 Hz.

The Chimo M06 shrinks the pixel pitch to 2.5 microns as well as the resolution to 540 x 280, which the company says is the smallest in production today. It also chooses to lower the bit depth to 4 bits to enable a fast refresh rate of 240 Hz. The company did not specify the application that is driving this trade-off.

Each monochrome panel can also have a lens attached to it to form a display engine suitable for AR glasses. The FOV for all is 30-degrees with a focus at infinity. The M13E engine quotes the lens (not the engine) volume as 0.15cc with 5 lumens, but that is probably for the green panel. The M06E engine has a lens volume of only 0.05 cc with brightness of 1.8 lumens.

The company also showcased Nimo brand AR glasses with monochrome green engines integrated into them.

Innovision also demonstrated its RG polychrome and a full-color microLED at Display Week. The polychrome Chimo P13 microdisplay offers 60Hz, 8-bit, 320×240 resolution with an 8-micron pixel pitch. The color display is based on the company’s vertically-stacked pixel technology. A second demo showed an RGB stacked device for full color. The company said these are built on a microLED backplane as a suitable microLED backplane was not available. They hope to offer samples in Q4’26 with luminance approaching 3 million nits.
