The US Display Consortium (USDC) and Insight Media have updated the agenda for the November 16th 3D Workshop to reflect the confirmation of the first group of speakers.  The one-day workshop will focus on the exciting technology and applications for three-dimensional (3D) displays.

 

As many companies work to bring 3D technology to the mainstream and significant dollars are invested in R&D, there's been no central platform for raising and addressing issues affecting the sector as a whole...until now!

 

The 3D Workshop is designed to provide a forum for attendees to get a comprehensive understanding of the state of the entire 3D industry ecosystem and the prospects for success in the future.  " With these well-recognized experts participating in the 3D Workshop, plus more to follow, we are confident we will meet our goal of providing an excellent environment to learn about and discuss the future of 3D," noted Chris Chinnock, president of Insight Media.  " Exhibitors are signing up now and we encourage others to also do so to allow attendees to really understand the level of maturity of these 3D displays and the support process that make them possible."

 

In addition, the workshop will look at how to drive the additional funding and support necessary to take the 3D market to the next level. USDC and Insight Media also hope to gauge industry need and interest in forming an industry-wide working group as a means of addressing common industry issues-leveraging the workshop in November as a springboard. 

 

The workshop is also designed to share some of the initial results from Insight Media's 3D industry report, which is scheduled for publication in January 2007.  An exchange between the Insight Media analysts with leading industry professionals will help shape the focus and final results of the report so it best serves the 3D community.
