June has been a busy month for Insight Media. We’ve just concluded our 9th Projection Summit and 3D Comm in Las Vegas. But we’re not resting yet, we are participating in two other events which focus on the 3D industry.

 

StereoscopicFilmmakers.com is proud to present the first Stereoscopic 3D Training Workshop in New York City in partnership with Insight Media and B&H Photo & Video

Principles of Stereoscopic 3D and Shooting 3D: An Introduction to Stereoscopic Rigs & Production Techniques

This 8 hr workshop is broken up into a 4hr lecture and 4hr lab. You do not need to attend both, but it is highly recommended, especially for those camera operators who plan on becoming stereographers. The workshop is designed for filmmakers considering shooting, producing, or directing stereoscopic content. Anyone with any interest in the workflow of Stereoscopic 3D filmmaking should attend.

Training Dates: Monday, June 21, 2010

Location: B&H Photo & Video 420 9th  Ave. New York, NY

Course Fee: $495 *Training Modules Included.

Workshop Overview

The lecture part of the workshop will be hosted by Insight Media, and will take 4 hrs and go over the following topics:

1. Basics of 3D Vision and Human Factors
2. Requirements for Quality 3D Content Creation
3. Understanding 3D Formats, Encoding and Playback Methods
4. Shutter and passive polarized glasses
5. 3D TVs and projectors, field and post production monitors.

 

The lab portion of the workshop will be conducted by TBD and will also take 4hrs to cover:

1. Differences between shooting a typical 2D and a stereoscopic 3D film
2. Equipment and logistics involved in shooting a stereoscopic film
3. An overview of 3D camera rigs
4. Differences between mirror rigs and side-by-side rigs
5. Demonstration of a 3D Beam Splitter rig
6. Pre production and production considerations for a stereoscopic film.
