US EPA, DoE/EnergyStar and TCO Development to Present at Upcoming Green Display Expo

Insight Media, sponsor of the upcoming Green Display Expo (GDE) scheduled for October 27th, Washington, DC is pleased to announce that Wendy Williams, Regional Manager, Germany Australia, TCO Development; Holly Elwood, Project Manager for the EPA’s Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Team, US Environmental Protection Agency; and Christopher Kent, Team Leader for Energy Star Product Development, DoE/EPA/EnergyStar will be presenting in the Display-related Regulations and Standards session. Abstracts for these presentations are listed below. For the complete conference agenda, please go to: http://www.greendisplayexpo.com/agenda.htm.

This one-day event will be held at the L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, Washington DC. The conference is the first to focus on the growing importance of a green display strategy that incorporates technology, policy, regulatory and business elements.

The Regulations and Standards session features the regulatory and purchasing plans of the US government for 2009 and beyond. With the US government’s purchasing directives tied to the EPEAT and Energy Star programs, the single largest customer of electronic displays in the United States is setting the direction. Don’t miss GDE, if you are involved in this market! Attending GDE will give you access to the responsible program managers from the US government and provide you with the opportunity to ask the questions that are essential for your business.

In addition to the US view, we will take a look at a worldwide approach allowing everyone to better understand the alternative directions green electronic displays are taking in other countries and how this compares to the US. If you are planning to address markets outside of the US you should not miss Wendy Williams’ presentation.

Abstracts for these presentations follow:

Hence display technology certified by TCO is designed for you the user, and the planet.

Christopher Kent, Team Leader for Energy Star Product Development, DoE/EPA/EnergyStar
EnergyStar Trends and Status from Government Perspective
The display market has exploded - more of both larger and smaller displays, more uses, more hours on, AND more energy consumption.
