The Projection Supply Chain Report (formerly called the Projection
Industry Report) provides 239 pages of technology, business, product and
strategic news stories. Each news story is fact checked and provides active
links to web site and contact personnel. It is similar to the news stories
that appear in our monthly newsletter, Microdisplay Report, but covers
a seven-month time span. Only about 20% of these news stories have appeared
in Microdisplay Report.
This is the third semi-annual edition of this report. In the future,
the report will be issued quarterly, starting in February 2003.
The Projection Supply Chain Report - Autumn 2002 covers developments
since our last update in March 2002. It is a comprehensive snap shot of
the state of the projection industry and its supply chain. News from major

and CEATEC are included as well as several other shows. It also includes
news gathered from on-site visits, phone interviews, e-mail correspondence,
web data and press releases. This information is organized, analyzed and
assembled into a written report format that includes many product photos
and graphics. The report is delivered as a pdf file with an index to aid
in searching for information.

illumination systems are arriving to increase efficiency
· Even screen technology is finally getting the attention it needs
to obtain lower-cost, high-performance systems
· Enormous innovation in LCOS-based engine design and system manufacture
is underway which could make it very competitive
· Electronics integration is moving ahead nicely with System on
Chip designs and image warping capabilities all enabling lower system
costs
· Consumer home theater and the education market are key new opportunities
projection makers are targeting with new products
· Lowering system cost is a key driver for all and most producer
are moving to establish Chinese production operations
